Dr. Shanker L. Gupta, Founder

Dr. Gupta was born in India in 1941. At the age of 26 he moved to England to pursue higher education. In 1973, he came to the United States to start his residency as a General Surgeon and became Board Certified in 1976. He started practicing in 1978.
Currently, Dr. Gupta resides in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife Santosh. He has two sons, Vinay and Pranay, and 3 beautiful grandchildren.

In 2009, during a visit to his home country of India, Dr. Gupta’s eyes were opened to the needs of those around him in the rural parts of the country. He and his wife knew the cold winter months were approaching and that there was an essential need to stay warm. They decided to do something about it and purchased over 1000 woolen blankets and handed them out to the underprivileged people in rural villages of Uttar Pradesh. It was through this visit that Hope & Helping Hands was given birth and since then has provided eye camps, health clinics and medical assistance & supplies in addition to distributing blankets.

Mr. Suresh Dalmia, originally from India, is a Civil Engineer and resides in Warner Robins, Georgia with his wife.
Mr. Bijoy Mahanti
Mr. Bijoy Mahanti helps at the Aberdeen Lions Club. He's married and is originally from Orisa India.
